Region Two students from five different programs competed in eight different competitions at the state conference in Bangor on March 15.
Justin Smith competed in auto technology; Josh Vieira in auto collision; Devin Smith in auto refinishing; Josh Hudson and Lucas Grant in criminal justice; Josh Ganzel, Chase Brewer and Matt Harmon in the crime scene investigation team competition; Maverick Elwell competed in the welding competition, Sam Vetter in welding sculpture; and Heather Jackins competed in the early childhood education competition, where she was awarded a silver medal.
“We’re really happy for Heather, a second year student in our Early Childhood program and our chapter president,” said Ammie London, one of Region Two’s Advisors. “We are just getting our chapter up to full speed after a 13 year hiatus. We haven’t been a member school, nor competed, since the organization was called VICA,” said Bo Zabierek, Region Two advisor, “And it’s only our second year of competing in the new organization.”
