The Caribou boys’ and girls’ tennis teams had a perfect week with wins over Houlton, Madawaska and Fort Kent last week.
The Viking boys improved to 6-0, while the girls are now 4-2.

The week began with identical 5-0 verdicts at Houlton. In boys’ play, Caribou dominated three of the matches as singles players Ethan Plourde and Michael Marquis and the doubles team of Brendan Cyr and Tyler Willey failed to drop a single game. Zach Gorence survived a tough match against Lucas Grant in third singles and won, 9-7.
The Caribou girls also won with ease, taking the five matches by a combined score of 40 games to three. Richards, Patton and Massey cruised in singles play, with Patton and Massey earning shutout victories.
The following afternoon at Madawaska, the Caribou boys survived a scare against the Owls, but came out on top, 3-2. Plourde fell in first singles and Gorence was outlasted in third singles, but both Caribou doubles teams pulled off wins and Marquis edged past Jake Gendreau in No. 2 singles, 8-6.
The Viking girls won by a 4-1 decision. The singles players swept their three matches, while Collins and Duplissie-Cyr garnered an 8-6 win over Sarah Ringuette and Rikki Demoranville.
Friday was a home match against Fort Kent and the boys once again were challenged but held up and won, 3-2. Gorence came up with an 8-1 win over Adam Labbe and the doubles team again prevailed with the Cyr-Willey and Gabe Massey-Cameron Hill tandems rolling to easy victories.
Caribou bested the Fort Kent girls, 5-0. Richards had the most competitive singles match, defeating Abby Stevens, 8-6, while the two doubles teams defended their home court impressively by losing just three games apiece.
