Pantry blessed by community support

To the editor:
The Caribou Ecumenical Food Pantry has just completed its fourth annual Feinstein Challenge Drive. From March 1-April 30, the Pantry collected monetary donations and food items, in accordance with the rules of the Feinstein Challenge. Once again, this drive was a great success.

Our neighbors have shown their generosity by donating food items. Most of these items were given through our member churches, but some generous people actually came into the Pantry to drop off their donations. Each food item that was donated counted as one dollar to our overall total. Many thanks are also extended to all those who supported the Pantry by attending the Spaghetti Supper which was put on by Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 6 or sending monetary donations. In all, the Pantry received over $3,000 in monetary donations and 1,321 food items. These have been added together, and submitted to their Feinstein Foundation.
The Caribou Ecumenical Food Pantry serves the towns of Caribou, Conner Twp., Perham, Wade, Washburn and Woodland. The local churches which comprise the Board are Holy Rosary, Gray Memorial United Methodist, Faith Lutheran, St. Luke’s, Caribou Assembly of God, Caribou Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Caribou Church of the Nazarene and Lidstone United Methodist Church in Washburn.
On behalf of the Caribou Ecumenical Food Pantry, I would like to thank everyone for their continued support!
