PRESQUE ISLE — Benefiting Hospice of Aroostook, the second annual Tour of Mexico and Silent Auction will be held on Friday, June 28, at The Crow’s Nest in Presque Isle. Dr. David Jones, central Aroostook’s hospice medical director, will be the master of ceremonies for the evening and music will be provided by KC and Company DJ Services.
A Mexican meal will be included in the evening’s festivities. Staff, hospice volunteers and other community members have been diligently gathering a variety of items and packages, including enticing themed gift baskets, gift certificates and specialty gifts to ensure that there’s something for everyone.
“We are really excited about doing another Tour evening,” explained Jessica St. Peter, VNA clinical coordinator and event coordinator. “Last year, our Tour of Italy saw over 200 in attendance. It was such a fun evening and the proceeds of over $7,000 helped support patients receiving our hospice services. Many community members have donated goods and services to make this year’s event another success,” she added. “We appreciate all the support we have received.”
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the silent auction which concludes as dinner is served 7 p.m. Winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. and there will be dancing until 11 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person, with a table of 10 being $250. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Hospice of Aroostook/Visiting Nurses of Aroostook at 498-2578. If they are not sold out, tickets will be available at the door.
