Whitmore, Goldie V., 79, May 31, 2013.  Interment held in the Green Ridge Cemetery, Caribou.  Arrangements by Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.


    CARIBOU & PRESQUE ISLE – Goldie V. Whitmore, 79, wife of the late Norman R. Whitmore, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, May 31, 2013, at her Presque Isle residence. She was born May 3, 1934, in Connor, the daughter of Harry & Nettie (Scott) Grass.
    Goldie was educated in Caribou schools and was married to Norman R. Whitmore on December 10, 1955. She was a member of the High Street Baptist Church, Limestone, had been employed as a waitress for several area restaurants over the years and also worked at Aroostook Shoe, Presque Isle, during the early 1980’s. Goldie was a certified nurses aid serving at Cary Medical Center, Caribou, and at the hospital of the former Loring Air Force Base, Limestone. She had been employed most recently at the Presque Isle Homeless Shelter as director.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitmore was predeceased by her husband, Norman on June 15, 2006; one daughter, Carla Whitmore; and great-grandson, Steven A. Jordan. She is survived by three sons, Calvin R. Whitmore of Presque Isle, Rodney A. Whitmore of Biddeford, and Philip Michaud and his companion, Betty of Caribou; two daughters, Pamela A. King and her husband, Allen, and Carolyn Michaud, all of Caribou; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Friends called from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A graveside service was conducted on Monday, June 3, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Green Ridge Cemetery, Caribou, with the Pastor Charlie Campbell officiating.
