Mapleton summer recreation schedule announced

The Mapleton Town Office is now accepting registrations for its summer recreation programs. The programs will begin Monday, June 24 under the supervision of new rec director and Mapleton native, Jacob Graham.
Children ages 3-16 will have activities scheduled Monday through Friday throughout the summer. Children ages 3 and 4 will have age appropriate activities scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Activities for all ages include baseball, tennis, swimming, and arts and crafts. On rainy days, all recreation activities will be held at the Lions Hall. Other activities will be added to the rotation including volleyball, kickball, games and flag football.
The Community Pool will be open for general swim from 1-7 p.m. and is available for private rentals on Saturdays and Sundays. One week notice is required to guarantee the requested date. The pool opens to the public Monday, June 24.

Father’s Day Breakfast
The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile and ATV Club will be holding a Father’s Day Breakfast Sunday, June 16. Breakfast will be served from 7-10:30 a.m. at the clubhouse at 94 Town Hall Road in West Chapman.
The cost is $7 for adults and children 12 and up, $3 for children ages 6-11, and children under 6 eat for free. The menu will include eggs, pancakes, beans, bacon/sausage, muffins, toast, juice and coffee.

Church luncheon
The Mapleton United Methodist Church will be hosting its monthly luncheon Friday, June 7 at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to stop in and enjoy a home-cooked meal. Donations will be accepted.
Vacation Bible School
The Mapleton United Baptist Church will be hosting its annual Vacation Bible School Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 in the evening from 6-7:45 p.m. Children in grades kindergarten through grade 8 are invited to “Escape to Athens with Paul.” The week will include Bible stories, songs, games, refreshments and lots of fun!

Dean’s List
Alyssa Huston, daughter of David and Vicki Huston of Mapleton, was named to the Cedarville University Dean’s List for the 2013 spring semester. Huston is a junior majoring in allied health at the Ohio school. Congratulations, Alyssa!
