Caribou Middle School May Students of the Month

    CARIBOU, Maine — Mr. Pelletier, Mrs. Bouchard, Ms. Lajoie and Mrs. Donovan are pleased to announce Emily Austin has been chosen as the first sixth-grade Student of the Month for May.    Austin ran cross-country in the fall and participated in cross-country skiing and wrestling in the late winter season. She will take part in track this spring. Austin also sings in the chorus.

    Austin’s teachers say she is a very well-rounded student and is well-liked by her peers. She is an honor roll student and strives daily to do well in school. Austin’s teachers appreciate the politeness that she shows to everyone.

    The sixth-grade teachers are pleased to also announce Olivia Austin as the second Student of the Month for May. Austin is a student government homeroom representative and an honor roll student. She has participated in fall cross-country running, cross-country skiing and spring track. Austin is a member of the chorus and show choir as well as an honor roll student. Austin’s teachers say she is a joy to have in class and is well liked by both her peers and teachers.

Darrell Adams has been chosen as the third sixth-grade Student of the Month for May. They say Adams has made tremendous growth this year. He is involved in the band playing drums. Adams is an outstanding math student and takes his academic progress seriously. He is also an honor roll student.

Adams’ teachers say he has a wealth of knowledge about many things, especially dinosaurs, and participates well and has been a pleasure to have in class this year.

    The seventh-grade teachers have selected Clara Richards as their May Student of the Month. They describe Richards as an articulate and conscientious student who is able to balance her academics while participating in many extracurricular activities.

    Richards is involved in band, chorus and show choir as well as cross-country running, cross-country skiing and tennis. Always thoughtful and respectful, Richards’ teachers say she is an outstanding role model for her peers, calling her caring and kind and always considerate of her classmates.

    The seventh-grade teachers have also chosen Danielle Hanson as their May Student of the Month. Her teachers say Hanson is a very hard worker and wants to do well in all aspects of school. She is very active at CMS, where she is a member of the soccer, basketball and tennis teams and also the school band.

    Hanson is a participant of The Maine Dance Academy, where she had several parts in the spring show. Her teachers say Hanson uses her time wisely in the classroom and is also very kind to all students. Hanson’s “keep your chin up” attitude and upbeat personality make her a true leader around the halls of CMS, according to her teachers.

    The grade-eight team has chosen Sarah Berube as their Student of the Month for May. Berube’s teachers say she was chosen because of her willingness to help others and her ability to set an example for all who attend CMS.

    Berube, in her eight years at CMS, has been the manager of the girls basketball team both in seventh and eighth grade. Always willing to help a fellow classmate or teacher often without being asked, Berube’s teachers say she is a wonderful role model to all students and sets a great example regarding schoolwork and the treatment of fellow classmates, schoolmates, teachers and adults.

    Caribou Middle School’s eighth-grade teaching staff has also selected Casey Dobson as Student of the Month for May. Her teachers say Dobson continues to demonstrate her ability to balance academics and extracurricular activities and that her dedication and positive attitude can be observed every day in everything she does.

Dobson is considered a well-respected friend and student, always willing and ready to help her teachers and fellow classmates. Her teachers say Dobson is a great role model for everyone at CMS.
