MCHATTEN, Carl, AUGUSTA, June 20, 2013. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Augusta.

    AUGUSTA – Carl McHatten graduated from earth to Heaven on Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was the first born child of Clarence and Mona (Stoddard) McHatten.
    He leaves behind his beloved wife, Bernice (Lord) McHatten; five dearly loved children: Cindy Gapko, Lynn Melanson, Renae Coen, Amy McHatten and Andrew McHatten, and their families; five step-children whom he loved and raised as his own: Heather Taylor, Tammy Sturtz, Michael Campbell, Angela Tanguay and Joel Campbell, and their families. He also leaves his dear mother, Mona McHatten; brother, Don McHatten; sister, Virginia and John Griffin; in-laws, Brenda McHatten, Rachel and Dwinal Anderson, and Joel and Marcia Lord; also many nieces and nephews; and some very good friends. He was met in Heaven by his father, Clarence and his brother, David.
    Friends called at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta, on Friday, June 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 12-1 p.m., followed by a celebration of Carl’s life at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Beals officiating. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta, at a later date.
