HOULTON – Louise Lenentine, 78, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Gardiner Health Care facility. She was born November 9, 1934, in Southampton, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Davidson) Stairs.
She worked for many years for the Department of Human Services, holding many different positions throughout the years. Louise was a member of Military Street Baptist Church, a past Noble Grand of Portia Rebekah Lodge where she was a fifty-year member, and a fifty-year member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Lenentine and his wife, Michelle, Peter Lenentine and his wife, Katharine Suettinger; four grandchildren; Kaileigh Lenentine, Taylor Lenentine, Tess Lenentine, and Sadie Lenentine; her brother, Fred Stairs and his wife, Alice; two sisters, Irma Stairs and Alice MacFarlane; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Merritt Lenentine; a brother, Bertram Stairs; and a sister, Marie Williams.
Friends called at the Military Street Baptist Church Tuesday 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment was held in Jewell Cemetery, Monticello.
