UMPI’s Reed Gallery

to host reception for BFA Exhibit July 5

PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Fine Art Gallery presents the Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, featuring works created by graduating UMPI art students, now through Aug. 17.

The exhibit features the works of Karrie Brawn, Angel Cray, Corey Levesque, Robb Miller and Lanette Virtanen. The works featured were selected from individual shows by each artist held during the Spring 2013 semester as part of the Fine Art Senior Thesis Exhibition course. Students in the course are required to prepare a body of work for solo exhibition and defend it orally and in writing, in order to graduate.
The public is invited to view the exhibition, being held in conjunction with the Presque Isle First Friday Art Walk, on Friday, July 5, from 5-7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
The Reed Fine Art Gallery is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The gallery is closed Sundays and University holidays. FMI, call Rowena Forbes at 768-9442 or rowena.forbes@maine.edu.
