TAMC’S LUCY RICHARD, WHNP, CNM, joined by Dr. Jay Reynolds, TAMC’s chief operating officer and chief medical officer, displays Richard’s Preceptor of the Year award plaque that she recently received from the University of New England.
After being selected for the award, Richard was then invited down to the Westbrook College of Health Professions Graduate Hooding and Awards Ceremony May 17. The Hooding and Awards Ceremony was for physician assistant students who were receiving their Master’s Degree Hoods for their academic achievements.
“I was very honored to be asked to attend the hooding ceremony of the Physician Assistant Program at the University of New England and accept this award,” Richard said. “Although I received it, I feel that it is shared with my office staff, and most importantly my patients, because without them it would be impossible to provide this learning opportunity. The UNE students are always well prepared and so willing to learn. It is very enjoyable for all of us.”
The award she received read, “In appreciation of your dedicated service and outstanding commitment to the University of New England, Physician Assistant Program we recognize Lucy Richard, CNM, as a MASTER PRECEPTOR 2013.”
“We are so proud of Lucy and the top-notch care she provides here at TAMC,” said Dr. Jay Reynolds, TAMC chief operating officer and chief medical officer. “This preceptor award demonstrates not only how Lucy provides exceptional care to all her patients, but her outstanding efforts as a mentor to future health care professionals.”
The Preceptor of the Year award is given to clinical adjunct faculty that support the program during the training process of their education. Plaques for this award are hung at the University of New England at the Westbrook College campus.
