The Houlton High School Alumni Association was organized in 1997 and since that time has initiated or assisted with many projects at the high school. Their current project is the collecting of yearbooks to digitize. This will allow public access to all yearbooks online at www.houltonalumni.com.
“The alumni association is excited to provide this resource to the alumni as it will be a convenient resource to plan reunions and access information quickly. Also this will be a way to insure that volumes will be safely preserved for many years to come,” said Lauren Fitzpatrick, past president and the originator of the group.
If anyone has yearbooks they would like to donate or to give a monetary donation to this project, please contact the alumni at: office@houltonalumni.com. or send your donation or yearbooks to P.O. Box 990, Houlton, ME 04730 or call 694-6099 to have them picked up.
In order to properly digitize each page, the yearbook pages will be removed from the binding and will not be returned.
Yearbooks needed are: 1922-23, 1925, 1930, 1934-37, 1956, 1973, 1984-89, 1994, 1997, and 2009-12.
Other projects the alumni organization has assisted include: $25,000 to the Community Arts Center, scholarships, bleachers and the scoreboard in the Alumni Gymnasium, lockers, lighting at the soccer field, motivational speakers for school assemblies, all class galas every five years, the annual social and golf scramble during the July Fourth activities and a bi-annual newsletter for members.
