Pool decision disheartening
To the editor:
I am writing regarding the news I have recently heard about the closure of the Presque Isle outdoor swimming pool.
As a native of Aroostook County, and born and raised in Presque Isle, it was disheartening to find out about this closure. Not only did my siblings and I spend a lot of time there during the short summer months, but my kids and their kids also enjoyed it. We all took our fist swimming lessons there, met new friends and enjoyed time with our families!
Has it come to the point where everything has a dollar sign attached? All the small towns surrounding Presque Isle have an outdoor swimming pool.
Please citizens of Presque Isle let’s join together and figure out a way to keep this landmark open so future generations can have the opportunity to have good memories we were able to make! Let’s make it happen.
