The Daughters of Isabella Holy Rosary Circle 638 held their last meeting until fall on June 4 at the Parish Center.
The 50/50 raffle in the amount of $9.50 was won by Debbie Chabre. The June, July and Aug. birthdays were read with none present for June. Elizabeth Beaulieu received a gift for July and Elaine Haines for Aug. Happy Birthday was sung.

Opening prayer was led by Past Regent Elaine Haines as well as the Ode and Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were given.
In communications were thank you’s from Elaine Haines, Sandi Snyder and Alyssa Raldolph who was our scholarship recipient, Sharon Ellis, Julie Goodale, Ozline Fisher and a thank you from Faith Formation Director Rena Lagasse  for the food provided by the Daughters for the Second Holy Communion.
A letter was read from Donald Hebert regarding the upcoming Parish of the Precious Blood Fundraiser to be held Aug. 31, asking for help in setting up. Regent Gail will contact Don to see exactly what will be needed and the calling committee will be in touch with the members to solicit their help.
There were no layettes given out in May. Elizabeth Beaulieu gave a donation of $20 for the layette project.
In visitation of the sick, it was reported that cards were sent to Diane Saucier, Lillian Keaton, Josephine Bell, Patricia Haley, Josephine St. Peter, Shirley Holtgrefe and Joan Bishop. Cards will be sent to Lillian Keaton, Norma Shaw, Ruth Getchell and Germaine Michaud. A birthday card will be sent to Doris Martin for July 22, as she celebrates 90 years young. During the summer months, if anyone is in need of cards either let our Regent Gail or Vice Regent Mary Ellen know.
In convention highlights, a certificate was presented to Rena Legasse for her participation in the Footprints in the Sand entry. Regent told the members present about the beautiful memorial service on Friday evening followed by a service based on the theme Footprints in the Sand: Jesus as our Bread of Life.
Election of officers took place with State Regent Jackie Dostie Smith, Vice Regent Martha Dufour, Secretary Susan Audet Palmer and treasurer Judy Moore, and Past Regent Beatrice Dostie. One $1,000 scholarship was given this year with first runner up our own Paige Nadeau. Theme baskets from all circles were raffled off and recipient of the Picnic Basket won by Adeline Beaulieu was displayed.
Our circle received the Cross and Crown Award which is the highest State award given for our works in the categories of Church, Circle, Youth and Community, as over 10,000 hours are donated annually from our members. Our Regent will be calling on members during the summer as we will be having a new slate of officers for the coming two years. New handbooks will be available by Oct. with the help of member Tammy Nadeau.
The refreshment committee for this evening and our ice cream social was Adeline Beaulieu, Vi Cummings Sirois and Gail Hjort. September’s refreshment committee will be Phyllis Brown, Sandi Gagnon and Tina Sirois. Regent reminded everyone to sign the attendance and activity sheets. Closing prayer and song “We’re the Daughters of Isabella” was sung and the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Regent Gail wishes everyone a wonderful summer.
