Kendra Furber, an eighth-grade graduate from New Sweden School, was recently presented the Americanism award from Stockholm American Legion Post 136 Commander Herman Fisher as Legion member Andy Olson looks on. Furber’s classmates elected her for the award due to her involvement in such activities as being a junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Girl Scout, member of the local baseball team and the school band, among others.
