PRESQUE ISLE — Does the thought of making small talk send you into hiding?
Small talk is the social glue of the business and professional world. Your business is excellent, and your professional skills are top notch. But if your chit chat doesn’t make the cut, you’re not going anywhere with customers, coworkers, bosses or potential employers.
Join Women, Work, and Community on Monday, July 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library in Presque Isle to meet strangers and leave with friends and colleagues. Professor Jacqui Lowman from the University of Maine at Presque Isle will help us break the ice with stories, strategies and tips for small talk.
Things to bring:
• Yourself and a friend, if you’d like to mingle with support;
• Finger food to share. No need to be fancy, just bring a potluck contribution if you can; and
• Your business card, or a way to connect (pen, paper, phone number) if you don’t have a card.
The event is free, and the more the merrier!
