The Houlton 10-11-year-old All-stars were eliminated from the District 3 Little League Tournament last Tuesday in Glenburn.
The Houlton All-stars were edged by Bangor East by a run, 6-5, as they bowed out.
The game ultimately was decided in the first inning, as Bangor East sandwiched in a few walks around some bloop hits, capitalizing on a Houlton error to send 11 batters to the plate to score six runs.

The Houlton All-stars rebounded in the bottom of the second for five runs with a two-out rally sparked by a David Tucker single; Alex Wilde’s double and Noah Reynolds’ base hit, along with Jaron Brewer’s walk and Hunter Sennett’s RBI-single.
The remainder of the game was scoreless. The closest chance Houlton had to tie the game came in the bottom of the fifth when Brewer doubled with one out. Logan Tribou was a special pinch runner replacing Brewer. Tribou advanced to third with two outs. He was stranded at third.
According to Coach Brian Reynolds, Tucker settled down and held Bangor East scoreless in the second and third, with Tucker recording four put outs. Sennett was very efficient on the mound throwing only 27 pitches in three innings, while inducing six ground ball outs — three put out by Sennett and another three by Jaron Gentle, who played a strong second base for Houlton.
Both Tucker and Sennett fielded their positions well, said Reynolds.
“Neither team really challenged after the first inning due to excellent relief pitching,” added Reynolds.
