A musical afternoon planned at museum
MAPLETON — The Haystack Historical Society will host an afternoon of music Saturday, July 20 from 1-4 p.m. at the Old Mill School Museum in Mapleton. Everyone is welcome to attend.
This event will be similar to the old-time Caleigh or “kitchen party” so popular in days past in Aroostook County, and still very popular in places like Cape Breton Island today. Like a traditional Caleigh, homemade oat cakes (cookies), along with tea and coffee, will be served by members of the historical society.
Bring your instruments and share a tune or just come and enjoy the great toe-tapping music.
