Cawley wins singles tennis title
PRESQUE ISLE — Caribou players managed victories in five of six divisions at the Northern Maine Community Recreation Association’s County Singles Tennis Tournament, held Monday at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

In the 10-12 girls’ division, Madison Stratton downed Livia Bouchard in an all-Caribou final, while on the boys’ side, it was Parker Deprey of Caribou defeating his younger brother, Sawyer, in the title match.
For 13-15 girls, Gabi Marquis of Caribou stopped Brooke Jandreau of Fort Kent. In the boys’ final, Ethan Plourde stopped Gabe Massey in another match pitting Caribou competitors.
Presque Isle’s Michelle Cawley defeated teammate Hillary Boucher in the 16-18 girls championship and Michael Marquis of Caribou got past Brendan Cyr, also of Caribou, to capture the boys’ victory.
A total of 41 players from the Presque Isle, Caribou and Fort Kent recreation departments participated in the tourney.
The doubles tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 in Caribou.
