To the editor:
While recently visiting the area during the Land Speed Trials at Loring, I was driving around Caribou in my 1933 Dodge, looking for a store that sold heavy carpet thread to mend our pilot chute. A gentleman stopped to look at my car and I asked him about thread.
Later that day he brought the thread to the track and wouldn’t take any money for it. I believe he said they lived on the Fort Fairfield Road. I would like to thank he and his wife for going way out of their way.
