Thursday, Aug. 8
Tie-Dye Extravaganza

    The Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual Tie-Dye Extravaganza at the Caibou Wellness Center on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is at the door and T-shirts are only $1. Make sweet psychedelic shirts, be etnertained by Tim the Tune Man, enjoy a barbecue hosted by the Aroostook Republican and more!  

 

Thursday on Sweden Street Teen Night

    Music Xpres will have Sweden Street rocking from 6 to 9 p.m. Come down and try some great food and games. Rumor has it the dunking booth will be back!

Friday, Aug. 9 
United Insurance/Caribou Fire Department barbecue and ice cream social

    United Insurance Kieffer Agency will host an ice cream social and dunking booth while, next door, the Caribou fire department will be barbecuing on Friday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fire department will have a seatbelt simulator, inflatable obstacle course and water hose demonstrations for the kids set up, while Kieffer Insurance will have a dunking booth. All are welcome to come and have lunch and ice cream with Snoopy and Smoky the Bear. 

Caribou Cares About Kids parade

    Theme: “Caribou: On the Move.” Line-up is at 5 p.m. at the Skyway Plaza on Bennett Drive. Parade begins at 6 p.m. Parade route: Bennett Drive to Hershel Street to Prospect Street to Sweden Street to the Caribou Courthouse, where it ends. Those wishing to register may do so at cariboumaine.net/popforms.

Movie Night at Teague Park

    Movie starts after the parade at dusk. No admission fee. Free, healthy snacks and juice sponsored by Cary Medical Center, Pines Health Services and the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department. The feature film is “Madagascar 3.” Rain or shine. If it rains, the movie will be shown in the Caribou Wellness Center.

Saturday, Aug. 10
Family Fun at the Park

    From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. everyone is invited to Teague Park to come try out some awesome inflatables, including a giant water slide and obstacle course. The event will feature games, vendors and music, as well as the Masonic Lodge with the CHIPS program for child indentification safety and the Cariobu Police Deparatment with the Iris Scan child safety program. Food vendors will be available. The day in the park is sponsored by Cary Medical Center, Pines Health Services and the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department.

Kids Back to School Bingo  

    Sponsored by Caribou Senior Citizens Bingo, free of charge from noon to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Sweden Street. School supplies and four bicycles will be given away. A great way to pick up some school supplies. All kids are welcome.  

Sunday, Aug. 11
Pig Roast at Collins Pond

    The ASMC/AGA Warrior Walkers Relay for Life team will host a pig roast at Collins Pond. They will be giving away door prizes and holding a 50/50 raffle. The food will be ready at noon. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children.
