FLANAGIN, Evelyn R., 81, WASHBURN, August 25, 2013. Friends may call 12 Noon, Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Funeral Home, until the time of services at 1 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
WASHBURN – Evelyn R. Flanagin, 81, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2013, at her residence in Washburn. She was born in Hallowell on March 27, 1932, the daughter of Berton and Ada (Barnes) Allen.
Evelyn was raised by her aunt and uncle, Olive and Murray Allen after her parents died. She worked as a waitress, for various farmers, as a cleaning lady, and homemaker. She attended the Lidstone Methodist Church in Washburn where she sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Tamie Bragg and her husband, Sterling of Washburn; two sons: Alan Flanagin and his wife, Cheryl of Presque Isle, and Douglas Flanagin and his wife, Marie of Perham; grandchildren, Kerry Bouchard and her husband, Matt from Caribou, Angela Flanagin and her fiancée, Tim Gagnon of Castle Hill, Jenna Bradstreet and her husband, Eric of Mars Hill, Sean Flanagin of Presque Isle, Kylee Michaud and her husband, Chris of Presque Isle, Shane Wright and his wife, Rebecca of South Carolina, Ross Wright of South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Alexis Rodriquez of Caribou, Samara Bouchard of Caribou, Evan Dickinson of Presque Isle, Alexander Michaud of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Lee Flanagin; and six brothers, Erbine, Beecher, Ashton, Dennis, Willis “Billy”, and Owen Allen;
three sisters, Eileen Quintel, Leona Gainey, and June Crawford.
Friends may call 12 Noon, Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, until the time of services at 1 p.m., with Rev. Dot Matson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Crouseville Cemetery, Crouseville. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to Lidstone Memorial United Methodist Church, PO BOX 75, Washburn, ME 04786.
