It is hard not to notice the many wonderful displays of plants, fruit trees, flowers and shrubs when driving by Aroostook Milling. Located on 15 Hillview Ave. in Houlton, Mike and Stephanie Harris have prided themselves on customer satisfaction.
“With all the big chain stores and Internet shopping available, it’s important that our customers receive the attention a small, locally-owned business can provide,” says Mike. “We have enjoyed getting to know many of our customers on a personal level.”
And now that summer is slipping away, the folks at Aroostook Milling are excited to be your Harman Stove dealer too. Aroostook Milling is the place to view and purchase your new pellet stove, boiler or furnace that can be maintained by a professional stove technician. Stoves can also be installed by our technicians.
“We know our customers and provide the service they can rely upon,” Mike says. “Whether it’s gardening supplies in the spring and summer or our pellet stoves in the fall and winter, we provide the one-on-one service and interaction that makes us stand out.”
Mike and Stephanie agree it’s extremely important in a town like Houlton to make sure the customer has a reason to return. “When a customer has a question, we have the answer or know how to get the answer to their problem.”
Since 1948, area residents know they will find the supplies they need: Blue Seal feed, Aroostook Milling Company Brand feed, lawn and garden supplies, Science Diet cat and dog foods, animal care products, wood pellets, coal, and pest control products are but a few of the many items found inside.
The diverse amount of products they carry, and their friendly and knowledgeable staff are the strengths of the business. Steve Bennett is a trained Harman Stove technician; Vickie Harris is store manager; and store clerks are Kathy Wiggins, Melissa York and Doug Batchelder. Mark and Ian Crane and Travis Quint run the daily mill operation, producing AMC feed. Rachel and June Horton handle all office and financial matters.
