Eagle golfers play in pair of matches

    Limestone-MSSM Eagle golfer Tyler Morgan sizes up a putt during Thursday’s golf match played at Limestone Country Club. The Eagles played a pair of matches last week as the varsity golf season got under way.

    At Limestone Country Club Thursday, the Ashland Hornets and Hodgdon Hawks were the visiting teams and the Eagles won one match and lost the other.
    Limestone-MSSM had 232 strokes to top Ashland (295) and fall to Hodgdon (198). The Eagles’ Meghan Flanagin was the medalist with a 40.

    Tyler Morgan (52), Nic Chouinard (60) and Kareena Woodworth (80) also competed for Limestone-MSSM.
    Cody Blair shot a 58 to lead Ashland, while Ashley Wallace and Ben Tuttle paced Hodgdon with 45s.

    Also on Monday, Central Aroostook squared off against a short-handed Limestone-MSSM team at Mars Hill Country Club.
    The Panthers took 9 of the 11 match points, with the Eagles’ only two scored by Flanagin, who was the medalist with a 36.
    Chouinard had a 66 for Limestone-MSSM.
    Chandler Brewer shot a 42 for CA as the Panthers’ top performer.
