Owl teams begin season at home
PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle men’s and women’s soccer teams begin their respective seasons with games Saturday and Sunday at Park Family Field.
The Saturday doubleheader will pit the Owls against Unity College, with the women’s match at 1 p.m. and the men capping the action off at 3 p.m.
On Sunday at noon, second-year coach Trevor Parent leads his young and talented women’s squad against St. Thomas University of New Brunswick. The Owl women are looking to avenge a hard-fought 2-1 loss from last season’s matchup.
The men’s match with St. Thomas University will start following the women’s tilt at 2 p.m. Alan Gordon begins his 23rd year at the helm of the Owls.
He is looking toward a trio of seniors, Lucas Bartlett, Kobe Ashkir and Aaron Hutchins, to provide leadership.
