AUGUSTA — State Senator Roger Sherman (R-Aroostook) posted a perfect 100 percent voting record during the First Regular Session of the 126th Legislature.
He was present for all 383 roll calls taken on the Senate floor.
The accomplishment is especially impressive considering that Sherman, who lives in Aroostook County, has one of the longest commutes to the Capitol in the Legislature.
“This is what the people of Aroostook County sent me to Augusta to do; to be their voice in the Maine Legislature,” Sherman said. “There are very important issues in front of the Legislature that impact each and every one of the people in this district, and that’s why I feel it is crucial to be there for every vote.”
Sherman serves on the Legislature’s Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry Committee. The voting totals for the First Regular Session of the 126th Legislature were compiled by the Office of the Secretary of the Senate.
