Hairworks Studio is located in downtown Houlton at 15 Court St. in the historic Millar Block and is registered in the National Registry of Historical Buildings.
The business was founded in 1981 by Rod and Candy Herring, and in 2008, it was acquired by Wanita and Steve Rush.
Hairworks Studio offers full salon treatment with haircuts, perms, hair color and glazes, up-dos for weddings and other special occasions, facials, pedicures, manicures, ear piercing, make-up application, along with jewelry and gifts found in Miss Whimsy’s Gift Shop.
The business provides an array of professional hair care products from Biolage, Bed Head, Kenra, Paul Mitchell and more, along with nail and skin care, tanning lotions and O.P.I. nail polish.
Hairworks Studio staff goes out of their way to make each customer feel important.
“Customer service is what our business is all about,” said Rush. “You need customers to survive in any business and we aim to please. We have some great customers and we like to make each one feel special because they are.”
Rush and her three full-time and three part-time employees stay current with new trends on color, cuts and styles.
