Charm arrested in Connecticut

FORT FAIRFIELD — A man wanted by police in connection with an incident involving threatening a local family with a weapon just over a week ago was located by law enforcement in Connecticut.
“On Wednesday, Aug. 28, around 3:30 p.m., Michael A. Charm was arrested without incident by the New Haven office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s S.W.A.T. Team and Fugitive Task Force in Hamden, Conn.,” said Chief Bill Campbell, of the Fort Fairfield Police Department.
Charm was wanted by the FFPD on charges of felony terrorizing, felon in possession of a firearm and violating conditions of release. On Aug. 24 at about 2:13 p.m., the Fort Fairfield Police Department responded to a call of a man threatening people with a gun at 209 Houlton Rd. in Fort Fairfield. Upon arrival, all of the occupants of the house were outside awaiting the officer’s arrival. The man with the gun, identified as Michael Charm, 32, of Presque Isle, was reportedly inside the home with a .22 caliber rifle. Charm fled the scene shortly thereafter and was believed to be heading out of state. He was subsequently located and apprehended in Connecticut.
No information was available at presstime on when Charm is expected to appear in court.
