Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
“BORING, Boring, bOring, boRing, borIng, boriNg, borinG”. Oh, how parents dread hearing the word, let alone the different accents or fifty shades of whining!

Michael Ian Black’s book “I’m Bored” with Debbie Ridpath Ohi’s illustrations is a wonderful reminder of just how many things children can do with their leisure time. Forget explaining to a potato, a flamingo, or any other creature – just read for the enjoyment with your young one and prove to the child no one needs to be whining “Bored”.
This volume and many others are available to donate in memory or in honor of a loved one. Look for the start-up of “Story and Craft Time” a wee bit later this month on Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. This is a free program for the children.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
