Learn to Skate program to begin at civic center

Do you want to get your little people out and moving all winter long? The Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association has an incredible deal to offer this year and they are very excited to share it!
Parents or guardians can sign a child up for the learn to skate program, which will run the month of November, twice a week (that is eight ice sessions for the month) for the total of $40. In order to sign up for any of SAMHA’s ice programs,

participants must first register with USA hockey by visiting their website.  They have their own registration fee, but the good news is that children 6 and under are not charged a fee by USA hockey, but must still register with them. Once registered with USA hockey, participants will receive a registration number. Bring a copy of that number and the child’s birth certificate to one of SAMHA’s registration dates:— Sept. 18 or Oct. 2 — from 6-8 p.m. at the Millar Civic Center.
The plan is to offer learn to skate sessions throughout the winter to keep children active and healthy — the good news is USA hockey registration is a one-time fee that covers the entire season. “Skating is a fun way to spend the winter and make new friends — hope to see you on the ice! Don’t miss this great opportunity at this incredibly low price, which breaks down to only $5 per ice session, and they last an hour each! Space is limited,” said Darcy Lorom of the SAMHA committee.
