For the past two weeks, Houlton Rotarians have been busy confirming pledges from area businesses and individuals for the 58th annual auction scheduled for the three evenings before Thanksgiving, November 25-27.
Local farmers have already stepped up and pledged 2,500 pounds of Aroostook County potatoes to the auction
“The auction is Rotary’s premier fundraiser for local causes and it is an opportunity for businesses and individuals to contribute goods and services to be auctioned to the public via the Internet, television and radio,” said Rotary President Lori Weston. “It is also an excellent way to advertise a business and make a difference in the community at the same time.”
Businesses and individuals can participate at any monetary level. If a person has not been contacted by a Rotarian and wishes to get in on the auction action, contact Auction Chair Amy Hocking at ahocking@northcountryassociates.com or Houlton Rotary President Lori Weston at comm.development@houlton-maine.com.
