Girls’ soccer squads have been busy on the field since their season kicked off. Game results from Sept. 10-17 are listed.
Houlton 1, Fort Kent 1 — Last Friday, the Houlton Lady Shires came home with a tie against host Fort Kent.
Emily Mooers put Houlton on top 1-0 in the first half, but Fort Kent’s Danielle Pelletier scored to deadlock the game with 20 minutes left in regulation.
Houlton’s goalie Bri Longstaff stopped seven of 13 shots, while Fort Kent’s keeper Alexa Pelletier blocked 13 of 17 shots.
SACS 0, Ashland 9 — Last Wednesday in Ashland, the Lady Warriors hit a scoring drought, as they were overtaken by an offensive-minded Hornet squad.
Cassidy Pelletier scored four goals, all off free kicks, and Marissa Chasse and Lee Ann McNally each scored twice, with Savannah Flint adding a single goal and assist. Ashland improved to 6-0, as goalie Macie Bellanceau had five saves.
For the Lady Warriors, 1-3, Marissa Boulier collected 10 saves on 24 shots.
Woodland 0, SACS 7 — At home Saturday, the Lady Warriors rallied behind two goals apiece from Cassidy Lyons and Katie Prescott. Chloe Raymond and Jess Nye each scored a single tally, with Mataya Hartin scoring with 5:20 left in the second half on a penalty kick.
The Lady Warriors put 27 shots on goal.
Katahdin 0, Penobscot Valley 7 — Last Tuesday in Howland, the Howlers blanked the Lady Cougars, scoring the winning goal (Brittany Moon) 39 seconds into the game. Two other first-half goals came from Arianna McKinnon, while Amy Hallett, Ashley McKenzie, Morgan Moon and Jenna Hope each added a goal, as Jackie Wooward, Meghan Howey, Logan Tozier and Shaelyn Jones chipped in with assists.
Katahdin netkeeper Courtney Stevens stopped eight of 22 shots faced, while PVHS keeper Sami Ireland blocked two of four shots.
East Grand 1, Hodgdon 3 — Last Tuesday in Hodgdon, the Lady Hawks picked up the win behind Jill Gough’s two goals and assist. Rachel Harmon scored a goal and added an assist for Hodgdon.
Byleigh Rowe scored for East Grand.
Wisdom 4, East Grand 0 — The Lady Vikings didn’t fare well last Friday at home.
Vanessa Pelletier scored twice to help Wisdom get its first win out of six outings of the season.
East Grand 0, Wisdom 2 — On Monday at St. Agatha, the teams met for their second meeting, with East Grand taking the loss.
Stephanie Bourgoin and Tyra Michaud each scored for the Pioneers.
Hodgdon 0, Washburn 11 — At Washburn last Friday, the Beavers overpowered the Lady Hawks, as Joan Overman and MacKenzie Worcester each collected four goals. Worcester broke Washburn’s school record with her 85th goal. Carmen Bragg, Carsyn Koch and Tori Koch all has single goals.
Hodgdon goalie Valerie Estabrook was peppered with 60 shots. She blocked 34 of those faced. For Washburn, keeper Taylor Howe had four saves on five shots.
CAHS 5, Hodgdon 0 — Monday at Hodgdon, Molly Anthony and Kari Levesque each scored twice to help Central Aroostook to the win. Sam Kearney added a goal, as well.
