Silver is a beautiful one-year-old spayed female residing at Halfway Home Pet Rescue in Caribou. Volunteers with the shelter say that Silver is an all-around perfect home companion — clean, loving and a very mellow personality. “She very sweet to other pets, children and adults,” said HHPR President Norma Milton. Silver has had almost $200 of medical work completed and her adoption fee is $25 this week. Adoption hours on Saturday are from  noon to 3 p.m. or by special appointment. HHPR relocated another 23 young kittens to southern Maine last week, and the shelter still has over 50 young and young adult cats available for immediate adoption. HHPR has an extreme need for all types of cat litter, scoopable or non-scoopable. The shelter is also running low on Purina Kitten Chow and Purina Cat Chow. Donations of supplies can be dropped off at the Adoption Center in the mornings or at 11 Pioneer Ave at any time of day. Volunteers are currently needed to provide additional assistance to our current workers. Volunteers are also needed to do follow-up telephone calls from their own home to our recently adoptive families to be sure that the adoption is going well for them.
