The business, located at 235 Perham Rd. in Washburn, is a pet cremation service owned and operated by Justin and Alisa Carney. The couple decided to offer the service after they lost their dog, Oscar, a few years ago and found the process of having a pet cremated required, in some cases, up to two months to get the ashes back. Centrally located in Aroostook County, Afterlife Affections serves the needs of pet lovers throughout Aroostook. For more information, visit the business on Facebook or call 455-5902. Pictured at the ceremony from left are: Washburn Town Councilors Mike Umphrey and Daren Churcill, Justin Carney, Karan Craig, Alcide Carney, Alisa Carney, Councilor Kermit Fuller, Washburn Town Manager Bev Turner and Council Chair Keith Brown.
