PRESQUE ISLE — The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting a Haunted Woods Walk, with this year’s event taking place at the Nordic Heritage Center, located at 450 Fort Fairfield Rd.
“Join the fun at Nordic Heritage Center on Oct. 4 and 5, when the trails are changed from friendly family walks to ‘Trails of Terror’ for only brave souls over 12 years of age,” said Theresa Fowler, CACC executive director.
Fowler said it’s sure to be a frightfully fun affair.
“The ghouls and goblins are already searching the trails at NHC to see where they are most likely to find their victims! They will be well-prepared for the two-night event. Gates open at 6 p.m. for the general public to enter the property and head off through Eric’s Trail,” said Fowler.
She said only the bravest should attempt this adventure.
“We suggest that only the fearless take this walk through the woods. Others can warm themselves at an indoor or outdoor fire, listen to Halloween stories, music and support local organizations while calming your nerves with refreshments,” she said.
Gates open both nights at 6 p.m. for ticket sales. Guides will take you off through the Trails of Terror in groups at designated times.
“While you are awaiting your turn to be terrified, you will be able to enjoy the other activities in the area,” said Fowler.
Fowler reminds participants that the trails are dark and uneven, so bring flashlights and wear sturdy footwear.
“The CACC is pleased to be hosting this event with the inspiration of Matt Clifford, support of the Nordic Heritage Center, and several local businesses and organizations. Tickets are $5 per person,” said Fowler.
