• Not an epidemic — Health Officer Chester S. Kingsley makes following statement: There is no epidemic of any kind going on in Caribou. There are several cases of sore throat as there always are at this time of year. At the present time we have one case of laryngeal diphtheria, which is the same as membranous croup, and have lost two children with septic sore throat, something entirely different than diphtheria.
• Of local interest — This week and next week are donation weeks at the Cary Memorial Hospital, so don’t forget to do your share in contributing preserves, vegetables, etc. Miss Virginia Osborne has accepted a teaching position in Woodland for the coming year. Levi Gulliver and Mrs. Jessie Wark of Fort Fairfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Warrie Gray and daughter, Faye, of Easton were calling on Mr. and Mrs. Ernest D. Bragdon on Sunday.
