Mr. and Mrs. Glen Townsend recently spent a week at the home of Arthur and Reneva Smith. Betty Lou Townsend is Reneva Smith’s sister-in-law, having been married to the late David Jones. While here they visited with relatives, toured the area and enjoyed swimming at the pool at Vacationland Estates.
Also visiting the Smiths on the weekend was their granddaughter, Lindsey Anne Smith, a student at the University of Maine at Orono. The Townsends have since returned home to Boothbay Harbor and Lindsey to Orono. The Country Music Jam has returned to playing at the snowmobile club every Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. after several weeks of delay caused by the illness of its leader, Clinton Roy.
There has been good attendance since the group has returned and everyone hopes it will continue to be active and that there will be no more delays. The group that attends enjoys all the singing and fun of seeing old friends each week. A potluck dinner will continue to be held the last Wednesday of the month as before.
I still have the pesky coon into my feeders but have not put out the big ones that he has such fun with so I haven’t had to go out and pick them up from where he has tossed them. I have a new feeder, but think I will wait until it is cooler to put it out. This one he could really chew on and ruin.
The apples under the tree have all but disappeared now, as the deer have come during the night and cleaned them up. I saw one under the tree early one morning when I went to get the paper, but have not seen the big buck for about a week. The doe and her twins show up quite regular and, as usual, the twins have fun dashing around the back lawn and chasing one another.
