Efficiency Maine offers rebates

Energy efficient appliances, products and lighting which qualify for rebates include:
    • ENERGY STAR® heat pump water heaters
    • ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerators and dehumidifiers

    • ENERGY STAR® qualified clothes washers and dryers
    • Air exchangers
    • CFL and LED lighting upgrades
Efficiency Maine Renewable System Rebates for solar and wind projects have been fully allocated, and reservations are no longer being accepted. At this time, there are no plans for future solar/wind rebates.
All solar projects currently in process with valid rebate reservations must be completed and rebates claimed by no later than Nov. 30.
Although solar rebate funding has been exhausted, solar thermal and solar PV electric installations have been demonstrated to be cost-effective for many Maine homeowners and businesses with unshaded and southerly oriented locations. The 30 percent Federal income tax credit on solar and wind installations remains in effect until the end of 2016.  Find out more about the federal credit here.
Registered Renewable Energy Installers will continue to be listed on our locator tool.
PACE and PowerSaver loan programs continue to support solar projects through long-term financing.
