Houlton, Hodgdon golfers compete in state individual tourney

Houlton and Hodgdon male and female golfers competed in the state high school individual golf meet at Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro on Saturday.
Houlton’s Ryan Dee and Cameron J. Clark both finished in the top 10 with a score of 79 each.

Robbie Watson of Fort Fairfield placed first with a score of 71 followed by Mitch Lorenz, St. Dom’s, Adam Hachey of Winthrop and Chandler Longfellow of Wiscasset all with 76s. Rounding out the top 10 were Robert Vickerson of Monmouth, Nick Garfield of Mattanawcook, Taylor Morang of Winthrop and Mike Richard of St. Dom’s, all carded 77s.
Hodgdon’s Ben Tuttle finished the day with an 88, while Central Aroostook’s Alex Folsom shot a 90 and teammate Chandler Brewer had a 92.
On the girl’s side, Bailey Plourde of Lincoln and Jenna Hallett of Presque Isle shared the top spot shooting scores of 76. Second was Megan Flanigan of Limestone/MSSM with a 78, followed by Monica Austin, Yarmouth and Van Nguyen, Fryeburg, each with 81.
Placing fourth through eighth were: Kelsie Dessent, Lawrence, 82; Ashley Chubbuck, Erskine, 83; Brianna Morris, Oxford Hills, 88; Grace King, Yarmouth, 91 and Rica Warren, Searsport, 95. Ninth place was a tie between Lauren Schonewolf, Cape Elizabeth and Kailey Coleman, Noble, each with a 96 and tying for 10th, Erin Holmes, Greely, Katie Pelletier, Caribou and Nicki Moody, Wells, all with 98.
Houlton’s Lexi Emerson just missed out on the top 13, finishing 13th with a score of 102, while Hodgdon’s Ashley Wallace placed 19th with a 111.
