The only Class D girls team that made the postseason is the Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors. The girls from Dyer Brook are ranked 10th in the standings and will travel to No. 7 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill on Friday. The time is to be determined.

The Lady Warriors finish the year at 8-6, while the Panthers are 7-7.
Southern Aroostook and Central Aroostook have played twice this year on the regular season, with the Panthers winning both contests, 5-1 and 3-0.
“Central Aroostook has a tough team,” said Southern Aroostook coach Kaylea Harbison. “They are very quick and aggressive. We have come a long way since we have played them last. If we can control their offense and give them fewer shot opportunities, we will give them a good game.”
Harbison said her team needs to move the ball with lots of cross-field opportunities to score.
“I have confidence that we could have a successful postseason,” said Harbison. “With only 13 girls, we are low in numbers, but the girls always play together and with confidence, and that can win games.”
Last Friday, the Lady Warriors played their final game of the regular season in Madawaska. The Owls overtook Southern Aroostook, 4-1.
“That was one of our best played games of the season even though we lost,” said Harbison.
Cassidy Lyons provided Southern Aroostook’s only goal. Goalie Marissa Boulier turned back 11 of 24 shots faced.
The East Grand Lady Vikings just missed a playoff spot, falling to 14th place with a 2-11-1 record. The top 13 teams qualify in Class D for postseason.
In last week’s action, the Lady Vikings fell to Shead, 3-0. Goalie Chelsea Winiarski had 17 saves on 20 shots.
Last Tuesday, the East Grand girls were overpowered 14-0 by host Easton. Winiarski and Sarah Stoddard combined in the net for 10 saves against 35 shot attempts. East Grand had six shots on the hosts.
In other girls’ action, Katahdin (17th in the standings) was shut out 7-0 by Schenck. Goalie Georgia Landry had five saves.
The Hodgdon girls finished in 15th place in the Heal Points with a 3-9-2 season record.
