Northern Maine Chamber Society
PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host the Northern Maine Chamber Society for a concert on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 3 p.m. in the Campus Center.
The orchestra is conducted by Kevin Kinsey. In addition to classical music, the orchestra mixes in pop and music selections. Society members are from Maine and New Brunswick. This event is free and is open to the public. FMI, call Susann Herold at 473-7698.
Student Activities Office to host a capella group Six Appeal
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Student Activities Office will host the a cappella group Six Appeal on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium. Swearing off instruments, Six Appeal uses a cappella singing to span decades of classic oldies, current chart toppers and catchy original tunes. Soaring leads, flawless harmonies, silly anecdotes and a passion to entertain, the 2012 National Harmony Sweepstakes Champions explore all genres with a far-reaching repertoire that will surprise and captivate any audience, regardless of the setting. Fine Art Department announces Fine Art Tour for 2014
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Fine Art Department announces its 40th annual European Art Study Tour from Tuesday through Friday, June 2-13, 2014. This year’s 12-day tour is to the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. The trip is fully-escorted under the personal guidance and supervision of Emeritus Professor of Fine Art Clifton Boudman, group leader. Tour costs include round-trip air fare, Boston to Glasgow, superior first class accommodations with private facilities and porterage, Irish Sea travel by ship, all meals, entrance fees to museums and sites, all motor coach tours and all transfers. The tour is highlighted by two full days at the Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Keary.
