DONNELLY, Geneva D. (Dubay) Prue, 79, BLAINE, October 29, 2013. Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest in Hudson, NH, in a private ceremony. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
BLAINE – Geneva D. (Dubay) Prue Donnelly, 79, passed away October 29, 2013, in her Blaine home after a long illness. She was born March 26, 1934, in Belfast, ME, the daughter of Lewis and May E. (Thibodeau) Dubay.
Geneva spent her years being a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Some would refer to Geneva as an old-fashioned housewife. Geneva was always putting everyone’s needs before her own. Geneva was the glue which held this family together with love, laughter and happiness; she will truly be missed by all.
Nothing brought Geneva greater joy than having all her children come home for a visit at the same time. Geneva loved getting everyone gathered around the table for a meal and a trip down memory lane.
Geneva’s greatest treasure in life was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether it was teaching them how to cook, read a book, and toss a ball, talking to them about their day, cuddling on the coach, or taking college tours. Geneva would tell her grandchildren to remember, friends will come and go, your mother and father will always be your mother and father, “family first.” Geneva also enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking.
Geneva is survived by her loving children: sons, Omer Prue Jr. and his wife, Susan of Hudson, NH, Phillip Prue of Windsor Locks, Conn., Roy Prue Sr. of Newport, ME; daughters, Julia (Prue) Potvin and her husband, Michael of Stratford, NH, Pamela (Prue) Rideout and her husband, Danny of Mars Hill, ME; step-sons, Donald Donnelly and his wife, Marie of Branson, MO, Troy Donnelly of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, David Prue, Raymond Prue, Roy Prue Jr., Alan Rideout, Trevor (Prue) Dziallo, Carrie (Prue) Diana, Jessica Prue, Jennifer (Potvin) Carter, Melissa Potvin, Alison Cronkhite; ten great-grandchildren; her sisters, Beatrice Corbin of Augusta, ME, Lucy Dubay of Ashland, ME, Geraldine Michaud of Presque Isle, ME; and her brother, Edward Dubay Sr. and his wife, Sharon of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by first husband, Omer D. Prue Sr. May 11, 1995; and second husband, Larry A. Donnelly Sr. March 13, 2008; second eldest son, James Joseph Prue; stepson Larry A. Donnelly Jr.; her brothers, Lewis Dubay Jr. and Frederick Dubay; sisters, Gladys Dubay and Pauline Dubay; her parents, Lewis Sr. and May E. Dubay.
As Geneva wished, she will travel one last time to her final resting place in Hudson, NH, where Geneva’s family will hold a private ceremony.
