MICHAUD, L. Roy, 63, MAPLETON, at Saco, October 29, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Sat., Nov. 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Presque Isle. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
MAPLETON – L. Roy Michaud, 63, passed away on October 29, 2013, in Saco, ME, at the house of his brother and wife, Richard and Terry Michaud. Roy was born on July 26, 1950, in Winterville, ME, the son of Roland Michaud and Geneva Gagnon.
Roy worked as a logger and foreman for Great Northern Paper company for 20 plus years then became owner/operator of Big Machias Lake Hunting Camps for 25 years, as well as trapper for Wildlife Services, a private contractor preambulating town lines, and was a registered Maine Guide. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Masons, Knights Templar, Maine Trappers Association, NRA, and Maine Guides Association. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, snow sledding, trapping, playing chess and cribbage, reading, and collecting coins and guns.
He is survived by his children, Keith L. Michaud of Mapleton, and Stacey L. Michaud and her husband, Michael G. of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Patrick M. Michaud and Joseph J. Michaud; his siblings, Richard R. Michaud and his wife, Terry of Saco, Karen G. Winiarski and her husband, Kenneth of Presque Isle, and Tammy A. Fenyo and her husband, John of Medford, NY.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2013, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Presque Isle, with Rev. Raymond Morency Celebrant.
