Community College appreciates voter confidence

To the editor:
On behalf of Northern Maine Community College students (present and future) faculty and staff, I extend sincere thanks to County voters who took the time to go to the polls and vote in favor of bond issue No. 5 to strengthen Maine’s community colleges and our economy. Sixty-one percent of those who voted approved the bond which shows the importance you place and the support you have for the type of education being offered at NMCC. It is gratifying to know that residents recognize the connection between community colleges and their ability to prepare people for good jobs … the bond is an investment well worth making.

We look forward to the expansion of course offerings and facilities in the Allied Health Department and the purchase of new teaching equipment which the funding will afford. We will continue to work closely with business and industry to determine what programs are in need of growth and change. And as always, we pledge to be careful stewards of the money entrusted to us.
