Easton’s Science Center is an amazing asset

To the editor:
Growing up in Easton and a recent graduate of Easton Jr./Sr. High School, I was given the unique opportunity to visit the Francis Malcolm Science Center on school field trips throughout my time in grade school. But, it wasn’t just through the school department that I was able to enjoy it. Snowshoeing in the winter, looking at animal tracks and visiting as a Girl Scout for “sleepovers” are just some of the few times I was there.

I vividly remember looking up at the night sky as I fell asleep. I loved looking at the stars so much that I begged my parents to buy me a telescope so I could see the stars whenever I wanted. The memories I hold in my heart of staring up at the night sky and learning about everything under the sun will always be special.
These aren’t just memories to me, they are life lessons and it saddens me to think that one day the youth in the area may not have the privilege to enjoy those experiences like I did. I’m just trying to raise awareness for the positive impact this amazing place had on my life, and though I haven’t visited recently, I’m sure the experiences students are having now will stay with them forever, just like mine have.
I sincerely hope a solution to this financial dilemma can be found and the Francis Malcolm Science Center may be utilized for many years to come.
