MAPLETON – Earline C. Black passed into the hands of her Lord on Friday, November 22, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 18, 1923, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Charles and Mildred Lint.
She is survived by two sisters, Micky Phibrick and Joey McLellan; her three children, Gerrilyn Rackliffe of Mapleton, Gwendolyn Miller of Frostburg, MD, and Clayton Black and his wife, Susan Black of Castle Hill; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Earline was predeceased by her husband, R. Clayton Black; six sisters, Ruth, Shirley, Norma, Amy, Doris and Ada; and two brothers, Merle and Frederick.
A celebration of life will be held Wed., November 27, 2013, at the Mapleton United Methodist Church with Rev. Dot Matson officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., with services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow services at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton. A reception will follow the interment in the fellowship hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mapleton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 208, Mapleton, ME 04757.
