ISLAND FALLS – John McCarthy, 45, died November 25, 2013, at Mass General Hospital following a long illness. He was born October 9, 1968, in Island Falls, the son of John and Sandra (Pipes) Anderson of Oakfield and John McCarthy of Strong.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Lori Sholler and her husband, Jim, of Summerville, South Carolina, Terry and her husband, Richard Lyons, of Dyer Brook, Janet and her husband, Marty Rockwell, of Oakfield; one uncle, Billy Pipes of Island Falls; two aunts, Mary Pipes of Island Falls and Shirley Sides of Sherman; nieces, Jordan Sholler-Hartin, Lindsay, Kimberly and Cassidy Lyons, Janel and Jasmine Rockwell; one nephew, Andrew Sholler; and two special buds, Ace and Glen. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents, Willard and Lois Pipes; a sister, Dee-Ann McCarthy; and an uncle, Michael Pipes.
