HOULTON — The Gentle Memorial Building and the Millar Civic Center were the places to be Friday and Saturday for the annual Rec Center Holiday Craft Sale.

About 1,000 people passed through the doors over the two-day craft fair, which has been a tradition at the Recreation Center for a number of years. New this year, vendors were also able to set up at the Millar Civic Center in the upstairs room.
Friday was the busiest of the two days, with brisk sales reported. Students also sold refreshments to feed the masses.
According to Recreation Center officials, about 56 vendors had tables at the event, which is about the same as previous years.
The gymnasium and basement room were lined with tables overflowing with items. Among the many items featured included homespun bags and purses; jewelry, knit mittens, wool socks, holiday décor, woodworking items, blown glass, along with jams, jellies and other homemade goodies; decorated wreaths and scrapbooking pages.
