The County Federal Credit Union has awarded northern and southern Aroostook’s Toys for Tots programs the sixth of seven $1,000 “Count on The County” awards. Checks to both organizations were presented recently by CFCU officials.

Area Toys for Tots efforts recently received a special contribution from The County Federal Credit Union’s “Count on The County” initiative. Stacy Edgecomb of the credit union’s Caribou branch presents a $1,000 check to Rudolph St. Peter, USMC, of Toys for Tots.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program has collected new, unwrapped toys in the months of October, November and December each year since 1947. Members then distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to the children of less fortunate families in the communities in which the campaign is conducted.
The “Count on The County” Initiative presents awards to non-profit organizations within its membership field in Aroostook County to help them carry on their good works. The selection committee selects a non-profit organization from nominations suggested by the community.
