Red Hat Border Belles crown new queen

The Red Hat Border Belles held their Christmas gathering at The Horn, Dec. 4, with 17 ladies attending. After 10 years of reigning “Queen Mother” of the group of women that embrace and celebrate growing older, Barbara Grant relinquished her title.

A crowning ceremony was performed with all the “glitz and sparkle” befitting a new Queen, including the elegant purple throne created by Priscilla Monroe. A royal cape, ring, crown and scepter were also used in the ceremony.
After the newly crowned Queen, Barbara Holston stated her vows, she agreed to encourage the ladies to understand that aging is simply a matter of the mind and that if you don’t mind, it won’t matter.
Attending the Christmas meeting and coronation were: Leola Bishop, Joyce Blake, Gemma Bartley, Pat Chase, Elva Coburn, Julia Craigs, Margaret Dudley, Barbara Grant, Barbara Holston, Irene Jackson, Joan Logan, Priscilla Monroe, Lois Morin, Odette Ouellette, Sara Regent, Marilyn Tidd and Jean Wiley.
